"After Hours (The Antidote)" "So What" "Nite Spice" "Cool & Funky" Published. Andyd Oct 07 Smooth (acid) jazz album from guitarist Ronny Jordan. Some of the tunes are dated by low quality raps and programmed drums, but there's plenty of hooks and some excellent jazz guitar. And a great crossover cover of 'So What', played very fast!

Robert Laurence Albert Simpson, known professionally as Ronny Jordan (29 November – 13 January ) was a British guitarist and part of the acid jazz movement at the end of the twentieth century. Jordan described his music as "urban jazz", a blend of jazz, hip-hop, and R&B.

The album followed the release of the Miles Davis composition So What as a single, which was popularised by London DJs and went on to become a classic of the s acid jazz genre. The third single, the smooth jazz -flavoured After Hours, became Jordan's first single to reach the US R&B charts.

Excellent CD! The title track, At Last, was what piqued my interest in getting to listen to more of this cd. But it was the other tracks that made the cd stand out. It doesn't disappoint. If you like smooth jazz, Ronny Jordan will be sure to fit your bill. One listen to Rendevous was all it took smooth as silk!/5(36).
