Nov 01,  · Youthanasia marked the continuing evolution of Megadeth. Following in the footsteps of what the previous album, Countdown to Extinction started, Youthanasia displays a tighter, more melodic sound than its preceding albums. The songs are all top-notch, the production is crisp, and the sound is crystal-clear. All in all this album is an integral part of the Megadeth catalogue.

Youthanasia, among other newer Megadeth cd's, is really quite awesome. The remastered sound is clearer and packs a much harder punch. gorgeous singing from mustaine on choruses like "family tree" and "day of reckoning" with earworm inducing riffs that; while not fast, are very much memorable. This marks the first Megadeth album in my CD /5().

Despite what many will tell you, Youthanasia is not a bad album. However, it does continue the progression that began on Countdown started in Though the music found in songs like Reckoning Day and Youthanasia remains quite heavy, it is obvious that thrash metal is very scarce on Megadeth's sixth album.

This song is Youthanasia’s title track. The title is a mix of the words youth and euthanasia. The lyrics are about how the next generation is being screwed by the previous ones.
